Meet Your Candidate

Greg Benjamin is the Ward Leader of the 51st Ward in Kingsessing, Southwest Philadelphia. A lifelong community organizer, he has served as a block captain for over 25 years and a committee person in the 5th Division for more than 20 years.

Married to his wife Adrienne for 34 years and the father of four, Greg leads with faith and service. He is a Minister in Training at the Church of Christian Compassion under Pastor W. Lonnie Herndon and holds a masterโ€™s degree in Human Services from Lincoln University.

Greg is known for turning problems into progress. After returning to the 5000 block of Springfield Avenue in 2003, once plagued by drugs and prostitution, he worked with neighbors to restore safety, stability, and pride. In 2008, when the Nutter administration proposed citywide library closures, Greg helped lead the successful effort to preserve the Kingsessing Library.

His record demonstrates that organized community leadership, faith, and persistence can drive meaningful and lasting neighborhood change.
